Nitrous Oxide

At All Smiles Children’s Dentistry, we understand that dental anxiety is common and when we have to do restorative treatments we offer Nitrous oxide to help handle your child’s nervousness or anxiety. Nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, is our preferred type of dental sedation because it’s safe, easily controlled, and painless. It is gently administered through a small mask that covers the nose. As it is inhaled, nitrous oxide gradually slows the body’s reaction time, allowing your child to coast through their dental appointment feeling calm and relaxed. Nitrous Oxide is the least invasive sedaion for children as well as being very extremely effective.

General Anesthesia

Here at All Smiles, general anesthesia for major procedures is performed in-office by an experienced anesthesiologist. General anesthesia places patients into an unconscious state during potentially painful treatments like the removal of wisdom teeth and other types of major or complex procedures. This type of anesthesia is easily administered intravenously in the hand or arm. Your child will be comfortable and secure, allowing your dentist at All Smiles to complete any oral surgery without causing pain, fear, or discomfort.

Anesthesia Coverage for Denti-Cal Patients

Denti-Cal patients don’t need to worry about the cost of anesthesia at All Smiles. The Denti-Cal program provides beneficiaries with access to high-quality dental care at little to no costs. If your income is more than the Medi-Cal limits for your family size, you only need to pay a small portion of your bill, which is called your Share of Cost (SOC). If your income falls under the limits for your family size, your child can receive anesthesia and other important dental services free of charge!
